In this post i am going to teach you how to delete or merge the existing Disk Partition. I have tried my best to keep the steps as simple and as easy as possible. There is a snapshot provided for each and every small step which would make it itself much self explanatory.
Step 2: From the list shown on right hand side open ‘Disk Management’. This will show all the current existing Disk Partitions/Drives on your system.
Step 3: Now select the partition that you want to merge.
Note: The partition which you want to delete or merge should be empty. And you can only merge the partitions which are side by side ( see the below figure).
Step 4: here I am going to merge partition ‘New Volume’ ( which is empty ) with the partition ‘Ubuntu’. For this, first we need to unallocated the disk space of ‘New Volume’. So, right click on it and select ‘Delete Volume’
Step 5: A new window will open as shown below. Click on YES.
Now we have successfully unallocated the disk space that was assigned for ‘New Volume’.
Step 6: Right click the ‘Ubuntu’ partition ( to which you want to merge the partition) and select ‘Extend Volume’. This will open a new window. Keep passing through that window by clicking ‘next’ ( all the windows are self explanatory but still check the snapshots below for a clear understanding).
That’s it. We have successfully merged the disk partition. See the snapshot below.
Thank you for reading. Hope this would help you.
